Digital Marketing Consultant
in Mumbai who thinks
like a business owner
I didn't learn marketing in a classroom. I learned it standing behind a counter — watching what made people stop, listen, and buy. That instinct is what drives every campaign I build today. Not just clicks. Not just impressions. Results that actually move a business forward.
This is the professional profile of Hussain Itarsiwala, a digital marketing consultant in Mumbai specialising in performance marketing, paid media, SEO, and e-commerce marketing for D2C brands and small businesses across India. Hussain is a Meta Certified Media Buying Professional and holds Google Ads certifications. He was selected for Google's NGO Marketing Immersion Program, received the Rising Star Award from IIDE Mumbai, and has had his work reviewed by industry professionals from Meta, Starcom, Publicis, XYXX, and WPP.

I Learned Marketing
Before I Knew
What It Was Called
People don't buy products — they buy the feeling a product gives them. I didn't learn that in a classroom.
Before I ever opened a campaign dashboard, I was negotiating with customers in my family's imitation jewellery business. I was a kid — but I was learning something most marketers spend years trying to understand.
Standing behind that counter, I learned one thing that has shaped everything since — delight your audience, or lose them. Not convince them. Not target them. Delight them.
That instinct is what pulled me toward digital marketing. And it's what makes performance marketing feel so natural — because at its core, it's about understanding why someone clicks, why someone buys, and why someone comes back. That's not a dashboard skill. That's a people skill. I happened to learn it early.
The Journey So Far
Family Business — Consumer Psychology Foundation
Growing up in my family's imitation jewellery business, I learned to read customers, handle objections, and understand that selling is fundamentally about making people feel something. This became my foundation for everything in marketing — especially D2C and e-commerce, where consumer psychology drives every conversion decision.
Undergraduate Degree — Business Strategy Meets Marketing
Completed my undergraduate degree with a focus on business strategy and consumer behaviour. This deepened my understanding of how markets work — not just how campaigns work. The difference matters more than most marketers realise.
Advanced Digital Marketing Diploma
Pursued specialised training in digital marketing covering paid media, SEO, analytics, and campaign strategy — building the technical foundation to match my business instincts.
AK Digitals — First Agency Experience
Joined AK Digitals and got hands-on experience managing real client accounts — content planning, Google Ads execution, client reporting, and day-to-day agency operations. First real exposure to what campaign management looks like under client pressure.
IIDE Mumbai — Post-Graduate & Rising Star Award
Completed my post-graduation in Digital Marketing and Strategy from IIDE Mumbai. Received the Rising Star Award for consistently thinking in funnels rather than just tactics. My campaigns and media plans were reviewed by a jury panel from Meta, Starcom, Publicis, XYXX, and WPP.
International Real Estate — Live Campaign Management
Managed a live international real estate client account with a monthly budget of Rs. 2 lakhs. Completed a full audit within one week — identifying structural gaps and inefficient ad group architecture. This proved I could manage real-money accounts under real commercial pressure.
Google NGO Marketing Immersion Program
Selected for Google's competitive Marketing Immersion Program — trusted with a $10,000 USD Google Ads credit to build and run a complete ad strategy for an NGO. Developed the full strategy deck, presented directly to the NGO founder, and executed the campaigns end-to-end.
Three things I believe
about marketing that
most people don't
These aren't borrowed from a textbook. They come from growing up in a business, studying performance marketing obsessively, and managing live campaigns with real budgets and real consequences.
The best marketers aren't the best executors —
they're the best diagnosticians.
Anyone can set up a campaign. The real skill is understanding why a number moves — why CPL dropped on day 5, why CTR peaked on mobile and not desktop, why ROAS is higher for one creative format than another. That's where great performance marketing happens. In the diagnosis, not the setup.
D2C and e-commerce are where performance
marketing gets most interesting.
Every rupee is trackable. Every creative has a measurable impact. The feedback loop between ad spend and revenue is near-instant. For someone who grew up watching a business think in margins, these channels feel like home. D2C brands that crack their performance marketing funnel don't just grow — they compound.
AI amplifies your thinking —
it doesn't replace it.
I use AI tools not to automate my judgment but to sharpen it. To find the gaps I'd otherwise miss. To move faster on the repetitive parts so I can spend more time on the strategic ones. The marketers who win in the next five years aren't the ones who resist AI — they're the ones who learn to think alongside it.
Certifications and Industry Recognition
Verified credentials from the platforms I work on daily — official industry certifications, not course completions.
An official Meta credential — one of the most respected certifications in performance marketing globally. Not a course. An exam.
Certified in YouTube and video ad campaigns — audience targeting, bidding, and creative strategy. Google's own standard for video advertising proficiency.
Certified across the Google Display Network — responsive ads, audience segmentation, and performance optimisation. Coverage beyond just Search.
Data modelling, pivot tables, financial dashboards. The kind of Excel proficiency that makes every media plan and budget tracker actually usable.
Full-spectrum post-graduation — paid media, SEO, brand strategy, analytics. Where the Rising Star Award happened. Where the funnel thinking was built.
Awarded for consistently thinking in funnels rather than individual tactics across all campaign work.
Put in front of people who do this for a living — at Meta, Starcom, XYXX, and One Impact.
